#TeamTanami was appointed to capture this unique event, part the 2016 Edinburgh International Science Festival. The Sounds of Science, hosted by What on Earth Books’ author Christopher Lloyd, tells the story of science and engineering through the ages and features an incredible solo performance by Dame Evelyn Glennie.
Taking place at the grand Queens Hall venue in Edinburgh, #TeamTanami documented every aspect of the live event through a multi-camera setup. Our production crew relished the unique challenge of capturing all 90 musical components that made up Evelyn Glennie’s soundscape. Each sound reflected some of the greatest innovations in modern science, the performance finishing with an impressive percussion solo.
Vox pops were also recorded which featured lots of praise from the spectators, including renowned Scottish author Ian Rankin.
Tanami delivered an assortment of edits – Evelyn’s full 21 minute performance, an event highlights reel and a series of shorter edits for use across social platforms. This widely promoted the Sounds of Science premiere, allowing anyone who wasn’t in attendance to relive the magic of the event online.
